Group bus pickup in Shibuya
Shibuya draws visitors for the scramble crossing, shopping and nightlife, but its narrow streets and constant crowds make it one of the harder places in Tokyo to load a coach. Good planning turns a stressful pickup into a two-minute stop.
Request a quoteWhere a coach can meet your group
The streets around the scramble crossing, Center Gai and the station plazas are packed with pedestrians and taxis. A charter coach should not be planned there. Several newer hotels in the redevelopment area south of the station have proper vehicle access; older or smaller hotels may only have a taxi bay.
When a hotel cannot take a large coach, we look for a wider street a short walk away, or recommend a minibus that fits the hotel entrance. For groups staying in different hotels, one shared meeting point saves several risky stops.
Traffic around Shibuya
- Roads near the station are slow at almost any time of day, especially on weekend afternoons.
- Shibuya has good access to the Shuto Expressway towards Haneda and the Tomei Expressway towards Hakone.
- For late returns after dinner or nightlife, choose a drop-off at the hotel rather than the station area.
Luggage and walking distance
If the meeting point is a few minutes from the hotel, think about suitcases: rolling luggage through Shibuya's crowds and slopes is slow. For airport transfers with heavy bags, a hotel that accepts the vehicle is worth the effort, even if it means choosing a smaller bus or two vehicles.
Frequently asked questions
Can the bus stop at the Shibuya scramble crossing for photos?
No. The crossing area is far too busy for a coach to stop. Visit the crossing on foot and meet the bus at an agreed point nearby.
Which airport is closer to Shibuya?
Haneda: about 20 km, roughly 25–45 minutes. Narita is about 75–80 km, roughly 75–110 minutes, depending on traffic.
Our hotel has no coach access. What are the options?
We can propose a nearby street where loading is possible, a smaller vehicle that fits the entrance, or two smaller vehicles instead of one coach. The option is confirmed with the quote.
